The Henequén community in the Nueva Jerusalén sector is filled with joy and enthusiasm due to the recent training of new Combitas. This exciting process is a legacy of justice, love, and service, consolidating our first COMBITAS group, thanks to the Office of Risk and Disaster Prevention (OGRD and ANGRD) of the Cartagena Mayor's Office.
The training covered three fundamental points:
Identification and knowledge of risk.
Risk reduction.
Risk management.
These topics are crucial for our community due to the nature of our site and soil. The classes were dynamic and well-received, with professionals demonstrating excellent management, especially with the children. Some children from the Renacer en Amor project also benefited from the knowledge gained in each session.
This process began in January of this year when the Nueva Jerusalén Henequén Emergency Neighborhood Combas started this important work of risk prevention preparation. The training included responses to fire outbreaks, landslides, tree planting, and understanding Law 1523, in addition to knowing the necessary emergency lines: community Combas, National Police, and Firefighters.
In a few days, all the children who participated in this training will receive uniforms provided by the Cartagena district and will be certified with their diplomas. We thank God for all this progress and extend our gratitude to the entire team, especially our coordinator Jaime Oviedo. This is a significant and necessary achievement for our community, marking a step forward in disaster preparation and prevention.
